With the rising trend of construction activities, we consider that it is an opportune time to step up promotional efforts in an industrywide scale to heighten safety awareness and seek safety commitment at all levels of the construction sector, from top management down to frontline workers.
Against this background, the Development Bureau, the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Construction Association have initiated to co-organize a “Construction Safety Week” campaign to arouse stakeholders’ attention and to further enhance construction site safety. The Construction Safety Week, featuring the theme of “Zero Accident “, will comprise a series of construction safety related events from 20 to 24 May 2012. One of the featured events is the Conference which will be held on 22 May 2012. The Conference will provide a good occasion for oversea speakers and stakeholders to exchange views on grounding breaking site safety initiatives, and in an effort to drive change for the better site safety standard in Hong Kong.
