Background:
With a view to complementing the theme of Construction Safety Week 2020, “Safety x Smart Sites”, and promoting lifting safety, this promotional campaign aims to enhance the lifting safety awareness of the construction industry stakeholders, uplift the lifting safety performance and share good practice on lifting operations among the industry.

Judging Criteria
  • Breadth of coverage of the lifting safety management system
  • Effectiveness of development, implementation, regular review and maintenance of the lifting safety management system
  • Enthusiasm of lifting safety management system implementation at worksites
  • Improvement of safety performance of various worksites after execution of the lifting safety management system
  • Practicability and complexity of the lifting operations
  • Effectiveness of the lifting operations in improving the safety performance
  • Capability of the lifting team to implement effective lifting safety management system
  • Enthusiasm of the lifting team in improving safety performance
  • Effectiveness of the innovative technology in improving safety performance in lifting operation
  • Feasibility to apply the innovative technology in the construction industry
  • Cost efficiency of utilizing the innovative technology
Submission Content
(Either Chinese or English)
Power-point with not more than 8 slides to illustrate the required information as below for judging:
  • Policy and plan to ensure effective development, implementation, regular review and maintenance of lifting safety management system
  • Objective and effectiveness of the lifting safety management system
  • Evidence to show the improvement of safety performance after the execution of the lifting safety management system at any worksites (including joint-venture projects)
Power-point with not more than 5 slides and a video less than 3 minutes to illustrate the required information as below for judging:
  • List of lifting team members (including engineers, supervisors, operators, banksmen and riggers) and their contributions on lifting safety
  • Formulation and development of the lifting operations to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement
  • Evidence to show the effectiveness of lifting operation
Power-point with not more than 5 slides or a video less than 3 minutes to illustrate the required information as below for judging:
  • The way that the innovative technology improves the safety performance in lifting operation
  • Execution of the innovative technology in other construction projects
  • Required resources and manpower to apply the innovative technology.

Video specifications:
  • Less than 3 minutes
  • Resolution: high definition video formatted at 1080p
  • Format: .MP4, 2D format (not compatibles with 3D format)
  • Language: Cantonese or English
  • Subtitle script in Chinese and/ or English is recommended
Judging panel:
Judging panel formed by representatives from the Development Bureau, Construction Industry Council and other relevant organizations.
Awards
There will be Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit Awards in each Category

All participants must submit the application form and upload the submission to the webpage of Construction Safety Week (https://www.safetyweek.hk/) by 24 Aug 2020, 6pm.

Important Notes:
  • All submissions must be submitted online before the deadline.
  • The submission must not contain any obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent, disparaging or any content that is controversial and inappropriate.
  • The submitted content must be true and correct, and does not infringe upon the rights of any third parties (including intellectual property rights, confidentiality rights or privacy rights). If there are any violations, the submission will be disqualified. If the submitted content contravenes the law, all legal responsibilities will be borne by the participating units, and the organisers will not be responsible.
  • If material such as music, images, recordings or videos owned by a third party is used in the submission, the participating units must obtain written consent from the copyright owner. The organisers reserve the right to request the participating unit to provide a written proof of authorization if necessary.
  • All participating units are deemed to provide consent to the organisers to share their presentations and videos with the public. The organisers will have the right to publish the submissions on public websites or other media for non-profit making purposes.
  • All decisions made by the organisers are final decisions and binding in all matters related to the activity. Participating units are expected to abide by whatever decisions made by the Judging Panel and the organisers.
